I have 8 -100w panels
I a Epever controller
I don't have a inverter yet but believe I would like to go with 24v. I am building a off grid cabin. So I would like to reuse anything I get now later in the cabin.
Here's my maybe silly question.
Can I use 2- 12v 50ah batteries in series in my temp pack build to get to 24v or is that efficient? I can reuse the 12v 50ah in another system after the cabin is done.
Thanks for your time

This is a very common way to make a 24V battery. You did not mention what type of batteries you have. While most can be connected in series, be sure yours do not prohibit series connections.

I forgot that detail I was thinking of using 2 of the Ampere Time or Zooms Lifepo4 12v 50ah. I won't be running a lot we will be camping at the same site till we get the cabin done.

Ampere Time can be connected up to four battery in series. There are specific steps required to do this! Carefully read your documentation before connecting any wires.
You realize the BMS will shut down at 50 amperes?

I should have thought about that. Maybe I should rethink my plan a bit.
I knew that I would get good answers here.
