That’s what I meant to say!10 gage is only good for a 30 amp circuit
Then you can run smaller conductors, and use smaller breaker.I looked at the manual. It just says 50a bypass.
But what if I don’t want to or plan to run such a heavy load.

I also got 8 THHN, but I don't see in the manual what size breaker, I was thinking about just doing a 50 amp since they are good for 55 amps, is that what you did?I believe I ran 8 THHN - that's good for up to 55 amps and what the manual calls for. That or 6 is good.

I would just plan on needing it one day. The inverter has a great transfer switch. You may want to be in grid backup mode and charge at the same time. Better to have that extra power available and not need it than the other way around. If you're pulling wire you don't want to have to do that again later.

Exactly what I have except I have a manual transfer switch between the combiner box and load center in case I need to tell my wife to go to back to grid if I'm not thereJust to pile on - 6AWG from a 50A breaker to each 6000XP (x2). Also 6AWG from each XP to a combiner box, then 2AWG from a 100A combiner box to load center.
If you're doing a longer run I would definitely do 6 due to voltage drop. Mine was only like 4 feet as the power panels are side by side.Go
That’s fair.
I need to install this in my garage (90ft away) for the next 8-12 months so was hoping to not spend the extra on 8awg if I didn’t need to.

Brian,Here's my wiring diagram if you're interested.
