Adding battery storage to my system with tie in to Kohler 20kW generator

I currently have a system of 24 RenaS 255w panels with a SMC Sunny Boy 5000w inverter. The system is about five years old and has performed flawlessly.

what I am trying to find out is your opinion on compatible hardware needed to add battery storage to the system.

also, I have Kohler 20kW generator I would like to loop into the system to recharge batteries when solar is not available.

if you could, add in your opinion of the best brands of hardware that can be used.

any input would be greatly appreciated
