Well I feel really stupid. I’ve been around for about 7 years, installed Dozens of system and finally accidentally swapped two balance cables during a bench power up to update some firmware. Rec has user replaceable fuses but I swapped cell 1 negative with cell 4 positive so I’m hopeful that it’s okay but we will see when the fuses get here.

The fuses are hot glued down but the glue comes right off with a little prying. The fuses actually have small fuse holders so swapping should be a breeze. The unit shipped with 2 replaceable fuses but I blew 4. They should be here Monday.

Funny. I just reconfigured one of my battery banks and had to extend the balance leads. Solder and shrink wrap of course. But due to old age, dodgy eyes a hangover and inattention I swapped the balance leads on 2 of the cells. A handwritten 12 can look like a handwritten 15, well that's my excuse anyway.
Swapped it back after realizing my mistake and now the software says one cell is at about 4.8 volts and another 0.4 volts, and the charge and discharge FET's have shut down, so at least that part of the safety system worked. I'll have a go at fixing it so I can keep it as a spare, but in the meantime, it's shopping time :giggle:
