Bad days for Solar Production.

I made it to 95% SOC today. Wasn't a great day but I'll take it. If I didn't run the heat pump in the evening yesterday I would have hit 100%.

Won't be using the heat pump again probably for 6 days. Forecast is not good. I just might be able to cover the 6th day this time, wife has all laundry done and not using the heat pump. Gas furnace is the biggest draw now.

Seven straight days of pretty bad PV production due to a front coming through. Today was the first day that I had about 75% clear skies during production hours.

On the bright side, I have already made more energy in Dec 2023 than my system made in the entire month of Dec back in 2019. That was before I cut down 3 trees. and half my array was shaded the entire day. But I am way behind the 2020 total.

That is only from my Enphase AC coupled system. My DC system only had 1,000 watts of panels last December, the second 1,000 watts went online in Feb. 2023. I am falling short of 1 sun hour for the 3rd day in a row. If I was off grid the generator would be getting a work out.

Just looked at extended forecast, rainy or mostly cloudy until January 3rd.

How’s that for a kick in the shins.

The solar weather has been absolutely arse here too for over a week.
This is from an 8.4kw thrown around the yard array.

Got lucky today, forecast was cloudy and to stay cloudy and rainy till at least next thursday. Last night I messed up and my car charged when I planned not to charge to keep batteries high. Woke up this morning to a fully charged car, and a 70% house battery. Oops, but lucky, the sun came out for a chunk of the day and I got 101.7kwh in today to charge the house battery full, put some charge in the wife's ev, heat house and shop and basement, and make about $1 in bitcoin. About mid afternoon it changed, and the clouds are now here to stay.....

I need to get more NE 370W deployed ...
I'm irritated I didn't buy more of the Envision 305ahs...
I hate clouds from 0800 to 2200 during winter.

North Texas was a stormy mess today. Generated just 6.5 kWh on a system that was good for 78.6 kWh three days ago. Battery SOC is currently at 30% and both of our 62 kWh Nissan Leafs are at 38%.

Still up 94.8 kWh with the utility for the month though. Might need to burn some of that credit over the next day or two since the weather only looks marginally better...

Here in SW NH 13kWh made today from a 15kWh array. Mostly sunny, the angle is just not great and I'm on the north side of a small hill which hurts my morning production. Still better than nothing!

This crap here today should be on you tomorrow.

0Kwh, didn't have enough to power any loads.

Luckily was gone to Des Moines for VA appointment all day (takes about 3 hours one way from Timbuktu) and no one home so usage was only 8 Kwh. On a sidenote, stopped at Dairy Queen on the way back to get a Blizzard and the truck in front of us paid for it. My B day is Saturday, early B day present. ?

Pretty nice of that stranger, made my day.

Today was probably my worst day in years. The clouds have been heavy all day and we got a lot of rain. My 4,800 watts of panels on the Enphase system made just 1.4 KWHs total for the day. The peak power only got up to 800 watts, but the average was more like just 300 watts. 1/16th of my array power rating. I had ot work, so I was not here to adjust it, so the battery ran way down. I dropped the recharge volts setting to try and make it through 4pm to 9pm. After 9 pm, I will set it to charge from grid to get it back up into a reasonable state.

My 2,000 watt DC system only hit a maximum power of 297 watts, and total production was just 0.582 KWHs.
