High freqency inverters like the Giandel have a surge rating of ~20 milli-seconds which is ~1 cycle of ac power.I read a review which said the 1200w Giandel won’t go past 1220w, even for a 30 second surge - or something like that. Does that match your experience?
Personally I’ve given up worrying about surge… it has a soft-start/ramp-up feature that will run the ~900W shopvac (except in bright sun; more on that below) and the fridge hits 850W+ on start and drops to 60- or 80W. 780W coffeemaker is a resistance load and no surge there. For fun I tried a 700W heater fan for a half hour, again no probs.I read a review which said the 1200w Giandel won’t go past 1220w, even for a 30 second surge - or something like that. Does that match your experience?
Sorry, but what is a Megatron? What is a “inverter series microwave”? Is it a 12v microwave which works without an inverter?
OK - so the Magnetron is the component which generates the microwaves. Thanks!
What about the “inverter series microwave”? What is that?
How?Wow! Even assuming some of that may be marketing hype, so much of it rings true that it looks like a Panasonic microwave removes the need for induction cooking. Thanks!
I'll throw another one in, convection microwave.........How?
Induction cooking cooks food by heating the cooking vessel.
A microwave heats the food directly.
I've heard of people installing a convection microwave in their RV. I've looked at them, they take up more room, more weight. I wondered how many watts it pulls too and whether a solar system on an RV would handle it well without shore power. It is depend on what you want to cook.
Microwave oven with built-in convection oven has added heater and fan to circulate the heat from the heating element for convection function.
