I have two 24V/3000/70 multiplus inverters vectron says to use a 300A fuse. I'm using 250A fuses and 2/0 wire so I could put a 300A fuse if nessisary. The 12V version uses 400A fuse and the 48V 125A so I feel 250A is sufficient for mine.
How big does the battery fuse need to be? Do you just add the inverter fuse ratings together? I also have a 30 amp, 8 amp and some smaller DC loads running off though battery. I'd like to leave 50 amps dedicated to that. I realized the inverters don't use more then 125A each.
2400/24 = 100 * 1.3 [130% (1/2 hr peak)] = 138.3 amps
138.3 * 2 = 43.6 [other DC loads] = 320
320 * 1.25 = 400 amp fuse with 4/0 wire
Or do I need a 500 or 600 amp fuse. ? Somehow it doesn't make sense that the battery fuse would be less than the sum of the inverter fuses. Thanks for your help.
