Hi all

While looking for some LiFePO4 12V batteries for my van project, I came across this "Bely Latest Design 12V 100AH Lifepo4 battery with bluetooth and charging heating" from Shenzhen Bely Energy Technology Co.

As cold weather protection / battery heating is something I'd really like to have, I have requested more information regarding the BMS and the heating solution and here are the main points for the 150A battery pack I received from Linda Liu:
  • BMS continuous charging current is 100A and continuous discharging current is 150A
  • BMS low temperature charging cut-off temperature is -1℃ while discharging cut-off temperature is -20℃. It can be changed via the Bluetooth APP.
  • Heating films with thermostat and controlled by BMS. When the temperature is low than 0℃, when you charging and it will increase the temperature and warm the battery till normal charging temperature. The system consists of two energy-efficient heating elements controlled fully automatically by the BMS, which use the charging current to bring the cell temperature constantly above freezing point, thus guaranteeing maximum charging and discharging performance even at extreme temperatures.
  • The heating can not be adjusted via Bluetooth. We will set the temperature for charging and heating when we produce the battery, you can not adjust via Bluetooth.
Anyone looked in to these before? Something I should check regarding the BMS and heating prior to putting the money in (in addition to the basic list of questions)? What tests should I ask them to do prior to committing to purchase?

Thanks in advance for any tips and red flags!

So, I went and dove in to the unknown and ordered two 12v 150AH LiFePO4 batteries with Bluetooth and heating function. The seller representative at least is really cooperative. She was keen to answer all of my questions before me committing to the deal and she has kept me updated on the build as well.

Below the latest photo of, apparently, one my batteries. They also sent me the "Testing of 12V relay solution for low temperature (-25℃) 12V150AH Lithium battery" report. It shows that the battery heating system takes ~200W / 40 minutes to heat the battery from -25 C to +5 C, and at this point the battery begins charging. @Will Prowse - I'd be happy to share this report with you if you would want to take a look at it.

Anything else I should request from the supplier before they send be the battery test reports?

Got the numbers for my batteries. As far as I understand, capacity seems to be above the specified, on paper anyway.

Battery #1 discharged. ~14A for the duration of 11h20m yielded 160.57Ah / 2030.27Wh. After 12h I will start charging it back up.

Battery #1 Charged to 158,3Ah. ~15A for the duration of 12h10m yielded 158,3Ah

So at least the capacity is as advertised for both batteries. I still need to figure out the optimal parameter settings for my use. I will also try to test if thew low-temp cut-off and internal heating are working as promised.

Thanks for the great video!
Where do you plan to install the battery? Under the seat of your Ducato?

BR, Chris
Thanks @ChristophL ? I'll try to record as much as I can during the project.

I have two of these and they will go at the back, under the bed.

Why not under the seat of the co-driver? I double check today the size of my two 95Ah AGM battery from Varta and there would be enough place for 2 150Ah Bely batteries.

There's no way two of these would fit under the seat.

Sure?
I have two 95Ah AGM already installed under my co-driver seat:
175mm x 353mm x 190mm

And I double checked today the size.

Can you confirm the size of the Bely batterie?
Dimension(mm)355*175*190
