Can't Use Renogy In Line Fuse With 4 to 1 Solar Branch Connector?

So I finally had some time to assemble my setup and noticed that the battery was down to 40% and wanted to charge it up. I bought 4x of these in line fuses (https://www.renogy.com/solar-connector-waterproof-in-line-fuse-holder-w-fuse/) to use on my 4x 100W Renogy panels and bought this 4 to 1 branch connector (https://www.renogy.com/4-to-1-solar-branch-connectors-mmmmf-ffffm-pair/) to link them all together. The problem is that it seems that the fuse connectors don't seem to make a good fit with the branch connector, it partially goes in but not all the way. The positive MC4 connector to the panel without the fuse works perfectly fine with the branch connector though. Did I make a mistake and not realize that I can't use these in line fuses with this style of branch connector? I didn't want to force anything in further and risk breaking something, so when I saw it wasn't going in as smoothly as the panel's regular MC4 connector I stopped.

Perhaps this style of branch connector requires the fuse to be at the end link of the connector and solar charge controller wire?
