CEC or CEC Listed?

I am finding some of the posts on this forum website to be confusing and I think it may be as a result of the websites of many product manufacturers.

Many solar products say CEC listed or approved, compliant or registered, etc.

EXCEPT CEC in Australia means the CLEAN ENERGY COUNCIL and they have their own standards and logo and website for solar products.

In California , CEC means CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION. Here, solar products are listed for use in the state if to be connected to any utility grid. If not listed, then maybe? cannot be permitted to be connected to utility grid.

Maybe I am the only one confused by this???

But, it would sure be nice if posts said either CA-CEC or AU-CEC or CEC-AU and CEC-CA.

Then I wouldn't be confused.

What about the Canadian Electric Code? CEC-CA?

Is there such a thing? I knew about the CDC (Canadian Doughnut Code), the CCC (Canadian Coffee Code) and the NHL (Never Happen Leafs!) Stanley Cup code.

However, you too are correct and this is another point of confusion.
