Does anyone know the size of the circuit breaker that is in the PIP - 2424LV-MSD 3KVA controller/inverter by MPP?
It shows (and the manual does elaborate) that the AC output to the load is 3000 VA. Or assuming 120 volts MPPT the current is 3000/120 = 25 amps. So, the breaker should be 25 or 30 amps.
But that 3kVA may not be the true “RMS” power, in which case the 3000 VA would need to factor in the rms (root mean square) factor of ~0.707 which gives a true power of 2.121k watts. If that is the case, then 2121/120=17 amps. With that being so, the circuit breaker would most likely only be 15 amps.
