My wife and I are preparing to become boondocking snowbirds this fall. My mission is to significantly upgrade our 2004 Monarch Windsor's factory installed solar system which is outdated. Through hours and hours of research I have finally found this forum which is just what needed to help me move forward. In advance I thank you all for your patience and helpfulness.

Solar can make boondocking very rewarding as it works in the background whether you're there or not. Put as much as you can afford/ fit up on the roof.

Solar though is only part of it, batteries are the heart of the system when the sun is down or multiple days of poor weather. Then there is the question of living as a minimalist or having the comforts without the need for a generator.
