Conflicting info on whether the controller and inverter come off the same battery terminals.

Ok I am still having the same problem, entire thing shuts down a few times a day under full sun usually. I did find something that is getting hot. The wire from the scc to the battery, only the positive. It get pretty warm, also so does the scc. I put a fan on it , that cooled it off completely but it cut out again.
Is there any chance I don’t have a big enough battery bank for the amount of panels?
I have 6 12v 149ah batteries wired for 24v

shut it all down. Based on the problems you describe, I wouldnt leave it operating unattended for any extended amount of time. It’s clearly not stable and the reason isn’t identified with any confidence. Best to lose some battery to sulfate than a dwelling to fire.,

Can you provide panel spec and scc model. You won't get any serious answer without a minimum of information;-)
