Building 4000W solar array to power two EG4 6000XP inverters in parallel with two EG4 PowerPro batteries in parallel.

I read the NEC requires a DC ground fault protector to disconnect PV+ line to prevent fires.
So I called Signature Solar tech help and they don’t sell the device and do not believe it is necessary.
Any opinions?

EDIT: see my next post first

I bought this: https://www.midnitesolar.com/productPhoto.php?product_ID=252&productCat_ID=16&sortOrder=4&act=p

Is it necessary? The only thing it does is disconnect when it senses current on the ground conductor from the PV+.
It does not tell you where the fault is. It will not detect double faults.

I put it in to satisfy code, otherwise, meh.
It is a high quality 50A breaker at least. But code says you can’t use it as a disconnect!
So I’ve also got an inexpensive two-pole 50A Langir breaker for that.
Nice avatar.

The 6000xp has a “pole sensitive leakage current monitoring unit”
Ask signature solar what that means, sounds like ground fault detection to me.

Actually, Page 6 of the manual explictly says it has arc fault and ground fault pv protection.
You are compliant.
