I bought a Halfords Smart Battery Charger 4A to charge my Eco Tree Lithium Battery (12V 110AH) which includes an internal Battery Management System.

When I turn the charger on it says it detects 0.5v and when I set the charger to 12v and LFP (Lithium Battery LiFePO4) it just returns an error saying I selected the wrong voltage.

Is it possible that the internal BMS is in sleep mode and requires a more advanced charger to wake it up or do I have the wrong charger?

Could I connect my 410w solar panel directly to the battery to wake up the BMS?

what does your voltmeter say when you check the battery voltage?

that panel may subject the battery to too high a voltage and damage the BMS.

Another 12V battery or other 12V source would be best.
