Hi All,

I was all set to pull the trigger on an EG4 6000xp for my newly built off grid cabin in Ontario, but I'm having trouble interpreting the rules regarding certification.

As it is a new build, every little thing will be inspected and it doesn't look like the 6000xp meets the certifications required for installation? There is no grid hookup and there will be none in the future. The only certification it has listed is UL1741, but no CSA approval. Does this mean that it cannot be legally installed in Canada?

I recall the LUX version of the 6kW unit is CSA and UL1741, not sure about the EG4 version.
Also the "Mapleleaf" rebranded unit that Solar Parts Store sells is CSA certified.

Pretty sure if that ETL logo has the C in the lower left, that's the marking recognized in Canada where the US in the lower right is recognized in the US.

The certificate removes all doubt, though. :)
