i have 6 24v lithium batteries wired to 48v, can someone recommend if i need to use equalizer ?

Lithium batteries do not need equalization, regardless of how they are connected (serial/parallel).

If you mean "keeping all the cells balanced" (equal voltages) then Yes,
Each of your 6 packs needs an 8s BMS.

Good point. I hadn't thought about that. Balancing and Equalization are two different things.
