Whoa!!

EG4 losing access to the 18kwpv wouldn't be the end of the world for them, they seem to roll with the punches and pick a new inverter every now and then.

Thanks to everyone participating in this discussion. I want to add clarity to the promotions published by one of Fortress Power channel partner. The Envy promotion is ONLY available for our authorized installer partners, and only limited to one purchase, and it ends on 9/31. The intention is having our installer partners to have one free unit where they can either install in their own facility, trailer or home for demo purpose, or use it for trade shows. It's a part of a RE+ month promotion to our valued installer partners. The eflex promotion is not limited to installer partners. If you have any questions, or need any support with Fortress products, please call our Tech support team at
English: 877-497-6937 Option 2
Spanish: 215-710-8960
or fill out a support ticket online. we have technical support engineers physically allocated across the country, including Puerto Rico and Hawaii.

Our apology for the confusion. Thanks to you all! If any of you will be at RE+, please stop by our booth 3764 to grab a coffee or soft drinks. We will be there to greet you.

Your Fortress Power team

From what I've read, the agreement between Huayu and Luxpower was for the 8 and 10k AIOs. Luxpower went ahead and developed the 12k(18kPV) which is outside of the agreement. Huayu claims that Luxpower also UL certifed their 12k(18kPV) under the same UL certification that Huayu paid for to certify the 8 and 10k. Huayu says for this reason only they have the right to distribute the 12k(18kPV). That's quite a stretch...

If Chinese courts are anything like American courts, the 18kPV is not going to be stopped. It's outside the contract. The court may require Luxpower to get their own UL certification for the 18k going forward, or pay a royalty to Huayu for the continued use of theirs. Lux may have to pay a fine to Huayu for the use of the cert to date, if the court feels Huayu was wronged. Or, the court may decide the addition of the 18k to the cert application was immaterial and didn't affect the cost/delivery of the cert for the 8 and 10k to Huayu.

I don't think EG4 will lose access to the 18kPV. I also don't see how the cert on the current 18kPV could be invalidated by this case, no matter how it turns out. Worst case scenario is that a new cert is required for going forward, and there is a delay in 12k(18kPV) delivery while it's acquired. Or, if fees are required to be paid to Huayu, then the price of the 12k(18kPV) could increase.

It was a statement issued by Huaya and their lawyer in which they issued their view of things.
They announce they will sue LP besides the current "Contract Dispute" case when they continue marketing (activities) and exhibitions like Las Vegas.
Let them fight it out in court and draw our decisions later based on facts.

Declaration

Recently, Luxpowertek issued a statement with regards to the contract dispute between Ningbo Hua Yu and Luxpowertek. This is the outcome of the court case mentioned in that statement.

The Yinzhou District Court of Ningbo City has ruled in favor of Luxpowertek in the first instance on September 8, 2023.

Judgment Result:

All claims made by Hua Yu have been fully rejected and unsupported by the court. Hua Yu is required to pay Luxpowertek the total amount of outstanding contract payments, amounting to 745,319 CNY, along with interest losses. Hua Yu is also required to pay the court fees of 31,908 CNY and preservation fees of 9,247 CNY.

In response to Hua Yu's malicious dissemination of information regarding the ongoing legal dispute case in public, falsely claiming that Luxpowertek would lose and is exposed to legal risks and engaging in detrimental activities of dissuading clients from conducting business cooperation with Luxpowertek through various channels. Luxpowertek, after the verdict announced by Yinzhou District Court on the morning of September 8th, hereby publicly declares the verdict and reiterates that this case has been concluded.

The dispute between Hua Yu and Luxpowertek will not affect any client's cooperation with Luxpowertek. If clients still have concerns, we can provide the original legal judgment (in Chinese) and certified translation documents from third-party institutions (in English, Spanish). At the same time, Luxpowertek reserves the right to pursue legal responsibilities against Hua Yu for their malicious defamation of Luxpowertek's reputation and product reputation.

Furthermore, it is declared that due to Hua Yu's failure to fulfill obligations as stipulated in the contract, Luxpowertek officially revoked Hua Yu's exclusive distribution rights for the 8-10kW US models in the United States and the Caribbean region as of January 1, 2023.

Luxpowertek will continue to focus on technological innovation and improving user experience. We will increase investment in the U.S. market, establish a local service team, and strive to provide customers with better products and services. We sincerely appreciate the continued support of our global customers for Luxpowertek!

Obviously, this post did not come from Edwin of Luxpower, but someone maliciously pretended to be Edwin of Luxpower, so it was discovered and deleted by the administrator.
Fortunately, we got a fair ruling from the Chinese court before the RE+ exhibition, and we will focus on technological innovation and improving user experience。
All of Luxpower's current business are in an orderly manner now. Luxpower will be on time for RE+. Welcome customers to visit our booth 5521. At the same time, our CEO James has more than 20 years of inverter design experience will be there and answer all questions from partners.
Thanks for all your attention.

Does this mean the buy one get two free isn't coming?

I think I speak for everyone on this forum when I say: the only solution to this legal matter is to send an 18k to all of us free of charge. Then they wouldn’t have to worry about any marketing concerns.

Otherwise we may be forced to collectively file suit against Ningbo Hua Yu and Luxpowertek.

We’ll use ChatGPT to come up with verbiage that sounds like we’re serious, then we’ll fill out the forms in crayon. It’s basically a fool proof plan.

That can’t be fun. Any ideas as to who the culprit is/was and what their motivation would be?

We don't know who they are, and since they've been deleted, we don't want to guess who they are and what their purpose is. We just want to let everyone know that Luxpower is focused on working hard to make good products and services, and there is no risk in cooperating with Luxpower.

Right on. Sounds like a complicated situation of designer/licensing/manufacture/distributor etc.

Here I was thinking “Luxpower made EG4 inverters” and it was that simple.

That sounds like the sort of thing Luxpower would say about Luxpower. :ROFLMAO:

My confidence in the bright future for the Lux/EG4/Envy 18k (12k) is now in serious question due to this goofiness…. I’m thinking the folks at Sol Ark must be laughing their donkeys off.. ?

So since fortress is only honoring the BOGO for distributors, and luxpower was just awarded a bunch of money in a lawsuit
Does that mean we can start seeing 4k dollar luxpower 12kw units on the market again soon ?

I wish ul certs were that easy but this idea that units share certificates is crazy.

I have to restart processes if we change a darn relay.

I'm sure you're pleased with the way it turned out. Does the verdict mean we may see a Lux-EG4 8k available in the States?
