Hi - wanted do do a quick hello, I've been lurking for a month or so, and finally had a question or two so I signed up so I could post.
As background, I've been playing with small scale off grid solar (with a brief wind foray that didn't work well) singe the mid 90s, back when I had a single 64 watt Uniloslor, an ExcelTech 600 watt Sine Wave inverter and 4 golf cart batteries. I could basically run a a small load of laundry off solar one a week, but it was fun to play with.
I started taking it up to our group camp at the Winnpeg Folk Fest to run a small pump to run water for the shower, and added some lights, then started making things more efficient and smaller. Finally switched to LiPo4 with a Victron MPPT and bluetooth this year and, well, now I have two systems with Raspberry Pi's running Venus OS, relays controlling fans, smoke alarm, door sensor and battery balancer inputs, and still am not done.
