Hi People

I had a thought!!!
As I only have a Generator for charging my Rack batteries, why use the ac output side of my inverter gen, to go from ac to dc
could I not step up the 12v output to 48v and charge the rack batteries like that ???

is this a better or worse way of charging??

12v from where? Isn't the 12v output from an ac generator limited in watts (for convenience, not wattage).

Typically the DC output from small generators is unregulated for charging and of low amperage. Take for instance if you have 8a at 12v. This would only be 2a at 48v.

I guess you are right, after my first brain storm lol
I done the maths, 8a and 230v is a lot more whatts than 8a at 12v (standard output of the honda EU22i UK spec)
