Added a Victron 500a smart shunt to the system today. Bought a cheap second hand android tab to monitor indoors. Wanting to know what the draw is really and if the inverter charger kicks in too soon or whenever to see if we are missing something or need more storage or what now we have added the extra panels, SCC and put on the fridges and freezers!! Slight c0ck up installing as I put the +ve on the same battery as the main negative out and wondered why I was only getting 13.7v! Doh! Quick look at the manual again and some schematics, back to cooking with gas as they say!

Make sure you set charged current to 0.2V below ABSORPTION. If you follow the directions and set to 0.2V below float, you typically get false syncs when charging with solar due to the inconsistent current.

Note that your smartshunt can log data for up to 45 days. Simply go into Trends and select two features to monitor.

Discussed in the manual around 10.3.X.
