Is this typical for a one line diagram?

Ok, so I am getting ready to submit to my local coop to put in a parallel grid-tied system. They have been very easy to deal with in the past but, I have to say I am a little surprised at the example one line diagram that they have included. This is the big requirement aside from uploading equipment specs for what I am planning on using. I am in Texas and do not have to deal with the city of Austin. Is this seriously the level of detail most people encounter with a one line diagram?

Is there a piece of software that can generate these nice diagrams I see floating around that someone can recommend?

The standard one-line diagram for PG&E looks similar.
An example they sent me was far more complicated.
It is appropriate to add part number of disconnect switch, wattage of inverter & panels, gauge of wires.

The simple one you could draw in PowerPoint or whatever. That should be sufficient to show utility what they need to know.
For building permit, likely more detail required.

There are better programs for schematics, but Visio is a possibility. I downloaded free version from OpenOffice and have been using that.
