You don't want that to be "L" and "N" with thermistor across it. (Maybe your drawing inherited those letters and arrows from picture you copied)
Instead, it would line in through red motor feed wire, through thermistor, back out blue motor feed wire, on to motor.
Which you may have meant. But some of the labels suggested otherwise.

Yea it was obvious the picture inherited that as can be seen above it. I never noticed. I'll clean that up... Thanks for noticing!

You shouldn't need to bypass the NTC. You want the NTC to get warm so don't try and heatsink it. Keep the legs of NTC on the long side. I use these with ring terminals.

The bypass was in case the thermistor fails, they do at high currents so that would have been an easy fix on the road. Thanks for the link!
