I thought I’d start a new thread for this.

I went back to Restore to get the scoop on why I was not able to buy a bunch of panels that were freshly delivered. It turns out there’s a fellow they text when a big load of panels is coming in.

He buys them all. He got 172 panels for 30 bucks apiece. Looks like they were all 275 watts.

That’s 47,000 watts. And he does this regularly.

I wonder what he’s doing with them? I know Texas has 10s of thousands of square miles square land that is not suited for much productive use. Maybe there are big solar farms out there I’m unaware of. But I I don’t think so.

Is he installing them somewhere and selling energy back to the grid?

I’m really curious what his business plan is. He just spent 5 grand on old panels.

I saw the guy. He looked surly and serious.

Any speculation?IMG_8884.jpeg

Probably flips them for 50 a panel
Is there a reseller close to you?
I live not terribly far from solar Jerry. He’s got a lot full of used panels that go for 80 bucks all day long it seems.

Used panels cost $5 to scrap and $45 to recycle. These guys are getting them for free from repowered solar fields and make bank by selling this junk to uninformed diy buyers. We should stop paying more than $0.1/watt for these panels.
