I am currently diagnosing a high temp issue with my SolArk 12k, and SolArk has sent me some new parts to install, which involved me opening it up. I snapped some pictures in case anyone wants to see what it looks like inside.
I dont know what any of it means or is, so feel free to educate me!
MOV - Metal Oxide Varistor
They are cheaper than gas tube varistors but when a MOV fails it can fail short which is the event they are supposed to protect against.
I like the fact that Sol-Ark gives customers who seem capable of repairing their own invert the opportunity to do so. It saves a lot of work pulling out wiring, removing and packing the inverter plus the huge shipping fees. The biggest bonus is that you can get it up and running in a couple of days (The parts shipping time) versus weeks for the back and forth.
Those who cannot handle the repairs can just ship it back and they will fix it for you.
