Reliable Inverters: New vs Old?

I'm trying to decide between these two inverters:



Ignoring the price difference (they're about the same anyway after shipping), what's the main difference between these two inverters? I heard that the top version is newer, but it lacks the hardwire option, which isn't great for me. However, this 'newer' one seems smaller, and it would fit on my wall much better than the 'older' one. It's hard enough finding inverters for the relatively uncommon voltage of my system, and I hope I can get some help here on which one of these would be a better purchase.
