Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Stay warm and safe!

Yeah!, Global warming lol!. Everything is fine here in Texas just cold yet no mile high snowfall lol!
Seems like some can work at home under these conditions to answer and support questions since the whole BS Covid thing was implemented that literally shut the world down.
Just saying.

Sounds like you’re lacking in your diversity hiring. You need to recruit some of us Minnesotans. Heading out to the park to do a little ice-skating. Maybe some ice fishing tomorrow.
That reminds me the last Ep of Fargo Se5 is 2 days away.

The weather is being unusually bonkers this winter it seems.
Absolutely! And yes, we have many working from home, and a few have made it to the office. We're hoping the roads get better and more can make it later in the day as well ?

I agree!!! Just checked the weather in Sulfur Springs and it's a balmy 13 degrees and sunny. Here it's currently -11 with a predicted high of -6. Embrace the suck!

It's lying to you. THERE IS NO SUN ?❄️? Sounds like you may have misplaced your weather down here. - You can come get it now... ?

No offense but you Texans are soft when it comes to cold :ROFLMAO:

My brother was down there for a little while when it got cold and snowed a tiny bit and was quite amused at the total freak out over less than 1/2 inch

I will second that, but I'm British so I don't count. The cold is fine, It's the drivers that worry me! ?

I have scrapped ice off my windshield twice since I moved to Florida, first time with my hand because I was still northern hard ?.
I laugh when I turn the heat on for a few mins in the morning now, love it here.

I think it really comes down to the infrastructure to deal with it. In manitoba, one night I saw like 4 front end loaders cleaning an intersection of snow. I also recall the main highway thru all of canada, seeing like 6 plows all in unison plowing snow over to the right which the truck behind it pushed over to the next truck.

Where as over here on vancouver island the place shuts down. water pipes freeze.

Being from north Louisisana, I agree that we do kinda freak out when the precipitation turns solid. But we really don't get snow, we have ice. And that, is a totally different animal. NOBODY can drive on ice, even you northern folks. Well, unless your tires are studded, I guess.

I remember my first skiing trip to Winter Park, Co, many, many years ago. We rented a car at the Denver airport & drove up through the mountains to Winter Park, and it was a blizzard. At first it was a bit unnerving, as I had almost no experience driving in snow. But, to my surprise, that snow was like driving on slightly rain slickened asphalt. It had great traction! The rest of our stay was fun, driving around on the snow - no problem at all. Ice in Louisiana, not so much. As I am writing this, there is a pretty good bit of sleet coming down now, and tonights' low will be 14. Everything is shutting down as the roads are getting impassable. And will be, until we get some sunshine and a little higher temps.

Good luck to everyone

Growing up, we used to stud our tires, and we only had rear-wheel drive. Everybody loaded the back of their pick ups with sand bags.

And the government thought putting salt and chemicals on the road was a better idea, so we can’t stud our tires anymore. Now instead of the supposed damage studs do to roads, the salt destroys the rebar and cement. We had a rusted out bridge collapse in Minneapolis a few years back. And the cars rust out. Don’t know what the additional cost might be for accidents and insurance because of the lower traction without studs.

But the soft rubber on winter tires, as long as you drive slowly, is not too bad with the ice. Just gotta drive slowly, especially on any curves/turns.

Whats funny, is that years back, my wife was doing a little consulting work up in Detroit during the winter, and one day there was a pretty good snow storm. Well, she drove in to work at the business that day, while every other female (except one), stayed at home & did not come in due to the snow storm. Every employee that did make it in that morning was very much surprised at that.

It all depends on where you live and the type of weather the area is used to. I used to live in California. It wasn't even worth getting out of bed for a 5.0 magnitude earthquake.

Well, my order was placed Dec 15th and SS took my money on Dec 15th! but no shipment, no response from customer support on Jan 4th or phone today. Web site says implies 'open' as you can see in snap below.

Weather is no excuse for bad service and not answering email or phones - phones and email work in bad weather or can be routed to good weather locations or employee homes.

Web site just now....

Filed a PayPal compliant and hoping to get my money back or the product sometime this quarter but will not use or recommend SS in the future. This is the worst service I can remember buying solar components.
