Im looking to build a roof mounted breaker box for my 2 solar arrays. It will also house my 2 Midnight solar SPD's.

I was planning on using the below Phoenix distribution blocks to properly tie in the SPD's before the breakers.

They are rated for 690V and 24A.

I plan on having 8 panels at 43VOC and 13.73A. Totaling 344VOC.

I was considering using these terminal blocks for the ground too, but concerned that if i do receive a lightning strike or surge, the block wouldnt be able to handle it.

Should I stick with a typical ground bar?

Do you see any issues using these terminal blocks?

Those should be fine, for ground consider din rail mounter ground terminal blocks, these bond to the metal of din rail for the ground connection. If not that I would use a standard ground bar.

It's a potential failure point. I would have absolutely nothing between the ground rods, and the main grounding bussbar. The main grounding conductor should be a single unspliced copper cable from one end to the other.
