Six months in I am fine tuning my system. I have a JBD BMS, and an Epever Tracer MPPT.
When I first set it all up, the BMS would cut out at full charge, which I understand is bad for the MPPT as it no longer has anywhere to sent the power.
I appear to have got away with this but I was generally careful to watch the SOC and manually intervene.
I have now tweaked the settings on the MPPT, so that it stops charging earlier. But I haven't got the balance right. The battery can dip down to <50% SOC before it starts charging again. I know this isn't doing the system any harm but I want to be getting the battery back to full, or I will run out in the evenings.
Any suggestions for what settings to use? Thanks
