My local home depot sells superstrut gold galvanized. Here in Hawaii things rust pretty fast. Superstrut advertises how good their gold galvanizing is but I wonder if anyone here has used and how does it hold up to the weather.

I used to run the plating op in sparks NV for superstrut before american electric corp was sold off in pieces and they moved the superstrut mfg to nuevo laredo mexico in the early 90s . It was zink plated followed by a yellow hexavalent chrome dip then a clear hexavalent dip back then which I would not use in your enviroment. I see they advertise a trivalent chrome now , not as good but not as toxic.

I have used both Silver and Gold, work great so far. However it has been only 2 years so i dunno nothing yet on durability.
The 12 gauge stuff is pretty tough. 14 is too flimsy. No issues at this time.

There is another issue of galvanic corrosion which is when dissimilar metals contact it makes a small voltage and over time will destroy the metal. This is why you should always use aluminum as that is what the panel frames are always made of.
