Hello All i thought i'd post my experience figuring out the Comms via RS232 / RS 485 / CAN etc here.
I am still trying to get the RS 485 Comms to work with the Laptop Software.
I still need to test the CAN Comms with an Inverter.

RS 232 Comms works well (Finally).

Pinout is as per the Manual. I used an RJ12 Connector. Pin 3,4,5.

The Issue i found was the Software Versions of the BMS tools (I used 10 different versions from different sources and threads) i used previously was incorrect and the BMS tool would timeout and not connect. It had me go crazy as i remade and rechecked the simple wiring a 100 times thinking it must be the connection or the rs 232 serial converter or something.

I Finally came across this thread "https://diysolarforum.com/threads/sok-sk48v100-problems.52730/"
where
I finally found a 2023 Version that worked for me with the Svolt/Pace 15S Battery.

BMS is a Pace: P16S100A

BMS Tool that worked was the SOK 2023 edition Tool : PbmsTool HS1.06

I will Update this Post once i get the RS 485 via 2 pin usb converter going. I'm most likely doing something wrong etc.
Please shout of anybody else out there have figured it out ?

I hope this thread helps somebody else :)

Kind Regards

JMJ

RS 485 Comms works well (Finally). READ Only though to see that the RS 485 port atleast works.

So here it was once again another version of the BMS Tool Software, and the other RS 485 port on the Battery.

RS 485 Usb converter used:

2 Pin for A+ and B-
Got this from "https://www.robotics.org.za/communication-wireless-Industrial/RS485-devices/RS485-USB/RS485-MINI"

RS 485 Wiring:

RJ 45 - Brown and White to A+
RJ 45 - Brown to B-

BMS Tools version used : PbmsTools-485-V1.22

On the Svolt Battery the RS 485 Port used : Second to the Right - RS485B

Hi JM Joubert

Thank you for the above , this must be the most detailed info on the battery and BMS thereof ,

I have a full circle solor 5kva inverter and the same 15 cell svolt 48v battery as above ,

Im having issues with battery coms on rs232 wired with a 6 pin rj11 connector from battery rs232 port to rs232 port on inverter via RJ45 connector

Do you have any recomendation on what to spot check to see if i have done something wrong connection wise

Hi JMJ,

I just wanted to say thanks a ton for these posts, they helped me a lot with my battery pack; a Joyvoit BW5KW 100Ah pack with the same BMS
Tip; to make writing possible you need to enter the password. Also get this s/w on the gobel-website (took me 3 weeks to find)

Dear JMJ,

Greetings!

could you share us if you had already fix this issue. Did it work with rs 485? i do have the same BMS, it is showing paceic on my battery protocol and i want it to change it. Pls share us pls

Hi JMJoubert , I have a Sunwise 48V batt with BMS Pace 15s. I have connected via serial adapter to rs232 on the battery. In the PBMSTools for changing protocol, the Inverter Protocol showing "Paceic" , but none of the softwares will allow me to change it. They all pop up with "Write Error" . I have tried the other PBMSTools which allow you to see and adjust parameters and tried to change the protocol in "System Config" , but the same problem, same error. I'm at a loss, any help would be appreciated. Thanks
