Hello, my current system is a 48v system using 8 lead acid batteries totalling 400ah. With 50% DOD, it leaves 200ah of capacity which isn’t enough. I want to replace the lead acid with lithium batteries and end up with twice the capacity. Looking for advice on what size and how many batteries to use. Thanks in advance!

A 500Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate battery will give you 400Ah usable if it is cycled down to 20% DoD then recharged.

There are many choices for batteries. just need to decide rack vs. wall mount and if the inverter you are using has capability of closed loop BMS communication with the battery. This not necessary but if you wish to go that way, it narrows down the Brands that are compatible.
