Have there been any known studies about a solar tracker potentially diminishing the lifespan of the panels?
This would seem to make sense because a solar tracker is going to maximize panel output throughout the day instead of a few hour window that a fixed amount maximizes solar output.

With some efficiency diminishment over time a modern commodity solar panel will last 35 years. 25 is probs more realistic. Some of that is calendar age diminishment.

Either way, the percent of ‘wear’ from the sun is probably equivalent to the percentage of additional wattage harvested. With the arc of the sun across the horizon, even with tracking, the increase of ‘exposure’ is realistically a relatively small percentage. But even at “20%” they A) are still going to go 20-30years (with perhaps diminishing output) and B) they aren’t going to suddenly fail out like the Deacon’s Masterpiece in Oliver Wendell Holmes’ Wonderful One Hoss Shay.

So in practical terms I wouldn’t give it a second thought.
