BMS ideas for 280AH 16s EVE cell system from Amy at Shenzhen Luyuan / Xuba

I don't have any issues.
If they where tested?
No idea.
What types of test are you referring to?

If I buy a mobile phone I don't ask the seller to do 10.000 possible tests, as that is (or should be) done in the factory.

The voltage was all 3.30v.
Just to be safe, I made one large parallel battery for 48 hours.

After this they got their spot together with the 3*152Ah (who where at 3.30v), making 736Ah per parallel set.

That was 22 days ago.
On average (now a 20A discharge) the cells are under 0.005v difference between them.
Even my active Balancer doesn't need to work :)

In 5 or 10 years...
Time will tell.
Oh sorry I didn't realize earlier your location was Thailand, that accounts for the lower shipping. I was just referring to basic testing that they matched for voltage and internal resistance which seems to be a useful service provided by other suppliers. I get your point about not expecting 10000 tests done by your mobile phone supplier, but I think these commodity battery cells have not reached that level of brand trust that we may have with some mobile phone companies, and they also require matching. Good luck with your setup - sounds great.

My understanding of the process is that their local shipping company gets the goods in a container that goes on a ship to the USA. Somehow FedEx knows when to pick it up when it clears customs and that is when FedEx gives you a real estimate of delivery. If it has been a month since they were put on the ship you may be correct. What was the date on the Fedex shipping label?

Says wednesday 6-17 so i guess that is when the label was created??

Another poster was able to get the vessel name and tracked it across the ocean. I tried with my vendors and the vessel name was not available from their shippers.
My recollection is most vessels take two weeks to get to USA unless making other stops or going another route through Suez. Your shipment is probably being unloaded in the customs area. which is where some of the longest delays happen.

From other posters here and elsewhere ......typically +25 to +35 days before it arrives-clears customs-and handed over to shipper for USA west coast entries.
My one received order was exactly+30 days from shipping/receiving tracking number ........to seeing movement on FedEx tracking sight.
You may have another 8 days to go but you certainly are in the mid range of seeing progress.
FedEx will call you or email or text you depending upon your alert settings when they receive it so no need to keep checking impatiently.

I actually hadnt checked at all until i got an email from alibaba saying my order was complete. I was thinking nothing is complete until i have it.

So i clicked on the link they provided and it was a fedex shipping number

I just placed an order for 16 280AH EVE cells from Amy Amy at Shenzhen Luyuan Technology Co., Ltd.

Was relatively easy and painless. Still waiting for payment to fully process so not quite out of the woods yet.

Cells: 1,318.72
Sea Freight: 388.00

Total: 1706.72

I was also charged 50 some dollars for credit card processing fee...

She threw in double bus bars for free after I mentioned that I was a member of the forums here.

Will update as the order and the project progresses.

I am looking for recommendations for a solid BMS solution.

Planning a 48V battery so my first choice, electrodaucus is out...

Afraid of Chargery Since Will's review - I don't deal with super complex/confusing configuration well. I'm a plug and play sort of fella...

I have a 16S ant bms that I have never used. I may try that temporarily but Jason's experience is fresh in my mind.

Anyone have any other better suggestions for BMS for a 16s 280AH battery system?
What was the internal resistance or your cells. How well were they matched?

According to Alibaba mine shipped yesterday:

"Jul. 11, 2020, 20:25:27 PDT., the order has been shipped."
Pardon me but did you get all the information you needed for your BMS question? I'm waiting for the same number of the same kind of batteries to arrive but I'm also wondering about a BMS :) . Thanks.

Their was a $700 dollar difference between Xuba and the company I ended up going with which is the one Fhorst is referring too.
Don't know how long it will take for you to get them. I've seen some people wait almost 3 months to get them. It has been a month for me now.

When it gets here it might be held up in customs for some time.
If I may inquire? Which company did you buy from? You got a great price.

There are several good sellers.
A few are promoted here by happy buyers, and from time to time a seller that pops up on the forum.
Last one was HeiWei Dao (deleted user)
Sadly he could not respect the forum rules, and tried to push his sales too much.
Some of his post where highly educational.
His pricing was really competitive.
I hope for the buyers who did use his offers, they backed it up with credit card protection! (Read the warning from @Xerxes )

For USA and Europe you can expect 4-5 USD per KG for DDP sea transport.
That is the price including the weight of package materials.
(5.5kg 280Ah cell is 6kg include package)
Location in Europe or cost line for USA doesn't seem to have influence.

DDP= door to door transport, all costs paid in advance. You only need to sign for receive.

Sea transport 20-30 business days (5 days in a week), or 4-6 normal weeks
Expect 10 and you won't get to disappointed due to Corona delays.

Cell prices are variable, depending on the seller and quantity.
I made this post a while back, with confirmed sellers that do not (yet) scam.

280Ah is between 70 (really, really low) to 80 USD.
For 8 to 16 cells expect to pay $72.50-$77.50

The post made earlier in this thread by
@Xerxes is good to read on what to expect, and why many people do use credit card to have additional warranty on getting the agreed quality.!!

I purchased from HeiWei Dao only last week.
32x 280AH cells, also paid on CC

Mine are coming via rail freight, as apparently thats now a thing all the way from China, through Russia on the old silk road route and landing in Poland where UPS pick up the baton and bring over to the UK

Shame he got booted off as he / she was very helpful.

Hi shavermcspud, any chance of a link to the Alibaba page for the cells you bought?
Cheers

Many thanks, fingers crossed for you...
Would you mind posting an update if they arrive?
So they have arrived, very well packaged. look brand new with bus bars, every single cell measured 3.3v out of the box need to test IR next and do a capacity test.

Mine seem to be in the FedEx system right now. So good news that senberry is seeming to honor these sales

I still have them all parallel balancing. Waiting on a second shipment of 48 cells to add to these. Will check IR once I am ready to put them into a pack config.
