Whoa, really? Thanks, I wasn’t aware of that. I will check that out.
  • Post in thread: How to determine if Lifepo batteries are bad

No, inside I just plug them, one at a time into a Battery Tender…let’s you switch types of batteries
  • Post in thread: CC is unresponsive

First I’ll see if they will warranty it, if not I will open it up. Thanks!

Someone should invent a box that turns on additional panels in overcast conditions and deactivates them when the sun is shining again.
  • Post in thread: How to determine if Lifepo batteries are bad

    Ok thanks. Easy to switch
  • Post in thread: How to determine if Lifepo batteries are bad

Thanks Consumerbot3418, I will pick up a shunt.

No I don’t think anything is crossed or shorted. I disconnected one battery and now the other going down to 9v. The disconnected battery won’t charge with my trickle charger. While connected to that it is between 11-13v, when I disconnect it from the charger, back to 10v. I think those...
  • Post in thread: Lifepo4 heater solution

I am looking for a solution to this problem: 2 100ah lifepo4 weize batteries, 800w solar on roof of shed. In the gloomy New England winter, my agm backup battery lasts way longer due to no charge cut off. I am looking to install a heater pad under the lifepo4 batteries but only want to have it...
  • Post in thread: Small system to power small freezer

Thanks to the many who have responded to this thread. I have taken a lot of your advice and put it into action. I have added two more 200w panels. So now my array is: 2 100w 22v 5.7a panels in series 2 100w 22v 5.7a panels in series Then connected in parallel And 2 200w 24v 10a panels in...
  • Post in thread: Small system to power small freezer

Hi, I watched a video by Survival Lilly who learned from watching Will Prowse videos. I intned to have a similar system to the one she designs so I followed it nearly exactly. I have 4 100w Rich solar panels and two 100ah weize LIthium batteries all in parellel. The freezer uses 240kwh/ year...
  • Post in thread: CC is unresponsive

So completely disregard the lower SCC in your post. I only have one SCC hooked up as depicted in the photo I sent of my set up. The LCD is indeed blank. And the MT50 reads “connecting…” I will try to bypass the 50amp fuse though I am skeptical that this is the issue in this case. As for the...
  • Post in thread: Small system to power small freezer

That’s awesome. I don’t have the resources to have that elaborate of a system.
  • Post in thread: How to determine if Lifepo batteries are bad

I think the agm lasts longer in discharge. I don't know why the lithium seems to charge to 14v and then drops down to 12 with no load. I am going to keep an accurate log and check this for sure. I just had to bring in the agm and recharge it after a few days of snow. In response to...
  • Post in thread: Lifepo4 heater solution

That sounds interesting. Do you use one, if so which one? Thanks!
  • Post in thread: CC is unresponsive

Bypass did not work. I can hear the SCC clicking on and off when I engage/disengage the fuse. The fuse, while maybe not a good fuse, isn’t the issue here.
  • Post in thread: Small system to power small freezer

It is set as “user” with all of the settings in the photo attached.

I have a 10amp Battery Tender. I can’t imagine that ruined anything. Do you have any reasoning that explains this thinking? It charges one to 13.6v overnight or in 6-8 hours depending how low they are. So both are charged in less than a day. My understanding of the larger amp Battery Tenders...

I have a DC meter and bench power supply arriving today. In the diagram for the meter, for the purpose of fully charging these batteries, do I ignore “load”? Is the bench ps hooked up directly to the battery? Or should is my power supply the “external power supply” represented in the diagram...

Does the charger ever get to zero? I’ve seen mine get to .017 current but not lower. This battery is at .054.
  • Post in thread: How to determine if Lifepo batteries are bad

I’ve never measured more than 13.6-7
  • Post in thread: Small system to power small freezer

yeah but if I wire them the way you suggest I am just over wattage not over the controller 40amps I’ll check out the Midnight controllers
  • Post in thread: How to determine if Lifepo batteries are bad

Update: first battery charged to 13.8 in just over 24 hrs. Second has been charging but stuck here(picture) or near here for most of the day. Will leave it overnight and see tomorrow. This was the battery that I had mistakenly connected pos to neg when hooking up two in parallel. Hope I...
  • Post in thread: Please verify my fuse size

Hi, I have attached a drawing of the layout as I have it wired already. Also attached is the data from panels. 4 100w Rich mono panels 2 200w Rich mono panels EPEVER 50A MPPT Solar Charge Controller 12V/24V/36V/48V DC Automatically Identifying System Voltage Max.PV 150V Solar Panel Regulator...
  • Post in thread: Adding 100w suitcase with SAE

I have a Renogy system…2 100w panels on the roof of my van. I want to add a 100w suitcase for when I am parked in the shade. The suitcase has SAE connectors. Is there a way to add some kind of junction box, connect the rooftop panels and the suitcase panels to it and use a switch to choose...
  • Post in thread: Bms

I recently discovered that my solar charge controller(Epever 4215bn) is only for sealed/agm batteries and I have lithium. I chose it because it was a Will Prowse favorite and he had used it in setups with battleborn lithium batteries. When I contacted Epever, they told me the difference...
  • Post in thread: How to determine if Lifepo batteries are bad

No load and they are located in an insulated box in a shed. But yeah, it has been below freezing. I have another exact same battery (weize 100ah) in a van and that has been working fine and is not in an insulated box.
  • Post in thread: How to determine if Lifepo batteries are bad

No but I can put it on there. From what while we said, I thought using the DMM would be more accurate. I’ll hook it up.
  • Post in thread: CC is unresponsive

LCD is blank yet it appears to work. I’ll try for a warranty replacement from Epever.
  • Post in thread: Small system to power small freezer

Hi again, I recently got this I got about my CC from Epever: “The difference between controller support with not support lithium battery is self activation and low temperature protection function.TracerBN doesn't have that function,so if battery trigger BMS protect, battery can't self...
