Hello All,
Yesterday, a friend's new inverter 6000xp arrived this week with an updated firmware.

Then checked my inverter for updates and applied it: ccaa-180B0B

It's up and running with no problems. Unsure of what improvements or enhanced were applied, I was unable to locate the change logs for the update.

Greg

You should see the changelog in the app. But also here:

Two more updates arrived today:
ccaa-xx0Cxx__2_comm_240204.hex
CCAA-xxxx0D_DSP_240204.hex

Between reboots my firmware was: ccaa-180C0B

After a couple of reboots

Now my final firmware reads: ccaa-180C0D

I am still unclear about updates on my 6000XP.
Here is what I see:
FW Code
ccaa-140A0A
Suggestion
Standard update
0A -> 0C: ccaa-xx0Cxx_2_comm_240204.hex
0A -> 0D: CCAA-xxxx0D_dsp_240204.hex
14 -> 18: CBAA-18xxxx_mppt_231224.hex

Not sure if I should click on "Standard Update" or not.... I have the worst of luck with updates.
The 6000XP is 15 minutes away on a 1500 foot hilltop.

I updated with the f/w ver you listed and ended up with f/w ccaa160c0d on mine.

My inverter updated to the same firmware too. I have setting 30 so I assume it’s up to date.

I believe we are both good to go on f/w. Now if I can just weed through the rest of the install..... Any idea about pv grounding?

On PV Grounding, only tie the panel metal frame or bonded mounting frame (IronRidge) to ground. Bring the PV- and PV+ only to the respective PV Inputs on the 6000XL. Do not share the PV- with other arrays. I found this out when I installed a 300V combiner breaker panel but had to remove the long common (-) buss bar and put in separete (-) buss bars for each array. Do not forget to add a DC surge protector for each PV array. I had to upgrade from 150V protectors to 300V when array's were re-wired from 125V to 250V.

The standard update would be the recommended option for updating these inverters. It will be good to note that the inverter will restart after each update is applied.

Do I have to be in front of the unit to do these updates? At this time, I have no critical loads on the inverter so a restart is not an issue.

If they are connected to the monitoring system, you do not need to be in front of the units.

So it would be suggested to do the "Standard Update" based on current and available firmware ?
Thanks!

I was able to get 2 of the 3 updates complete. I am unable to get the mppt update to complete.

I'm trying to go from ccaa-160C0D to ccaa-18OCOD. Everytime I've tried I get a failure.

Any thoughts?

Just received 3 more 100AH 48V batteries to bring bank up to 700AH. Hopefully keep the back up generator from running as sun is usually always a day away. Please keep up the info on Update progress.

I would make sure that no third-party applications are connected like Solar Assistant since we have seen them to cause issue when firmware updating as well as doing a full system reset before trying to update the firmware again. If this does not work, feel free to DM with a station name and serial number for the inverter and I can look into this.

@EG4_Jared - No luck - same errors. Disconnected solar assistant, shut both inverters down and brought them back up.

I will DM you with my station and serial numbers

After the upgrade, my screen has stopped rotating through the various metrics -- I have to manually navigate to see the various values (ie, state of charge, amps in, voltage, charge coming in...). Is this a new setting?
