Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

ARC fault: My impression is that is a US-only fire code requirement, the rest of the world does not care (please flame away if I am wrong)

Correct.

Ground Fault: I added some Midnite GFPD breakers, not too pricey

European installations tend to have a single GFI which feeds the main panel and provides ground-fault protection for the whole house, typically 100mA or even 30mA.

NEC: I wish they would UL test more of their 120V products. It’s not like the quality isn’t there, it just the paperwork.

It tends to be a pain for non-US companies without a local engineering presence (certification that is, listing is easier, but certification is a pain).

ah interesting, i was not aware of this module! i wouldn't know where to begin with adapting it to a victron system, I haven't seen a report from anyone that has accomplished it.

My best guess is it is a standalone detector module, which has some kind of relay controller 'dry contact', which you could integrate to your master RSD or something...

You could send them an email and ask more questions about it, or maybe they could link you to the install manual for it, to learn more about it..

Even if he were to get the Midnite arc fault module working with a Victron SCC it's unlikely it will pass UL listing muster if the inspector is really picky. Of course with the Midnite arc fault shutdown being optional, not sure how inspector could tell it was installed anyway (does an indication show on the SCC display)?

Interesting option that I ran across the other day.

24v 3k MPII about to be ordered myself. Camp 2.0 is gonna be nice this year (dare I dream of AC?!?)

Who’d you order from?
Nice! Yeah I definitely need a couple of Quattro or mp2 in the future for the full house but thought this would give me some options in a more portable size for now. I have a test case for it my propane dryer trips the overload on my 2400W rated Delta 2 max, displays shows peak of around 2600W. If it can handle that startup surge that would be amazing (not expecting it to but would be cool).

Ordered thru Amazon/inverters r Us.

Oh yeah my apologies, after reading the description again (thinking on it some more), that kit is made to work only with Hawk's Bay and Barcelona, which now I'm remembering are code names (if you will) of charge controllers they sell.

So I stand corrected, those are not standalone units, but rather made to work most likely (as daughter-board) only for those listed models. I didn't catch that the first time around.

So nevermind then..

Question. If a person posting on this forum has a pecuniary interest in promoting a particular product, should that fact be disclosed to the forum at large?? Or, is it already??
