EG4 6548 EX firmware update error 32

Based on Error 61 latest suggested fix, I tried to update the firmware in a EG4 6548 EX via a USB connection to the USB port on the front of the display. I got to 58% then the update stopped and Error 32 flashed on the LCD screen.
Questions:
1) Is the inverter irrevocably harmed?
2) If not, how can I fix this?
3) Why did it happen?
4) Has anyone else seen Error 32 when updating their firmware?
5) Is there a way to reverse the firmware update?

Please advise.

No luck. I have the right cables connected to the right port, my computer sees the USB to serial port on COM3 but will not open the device.. It looks like the driver is not compatible with windows 11 and will not install on the machine. How do I get the firmware flashed?

Thank you for your help. I found a driver that works in Windows 11 and was able to connect and perform the flash successfully. Error 32 is gone; so far no Error 61.

Ben, or others: My pre-ordered and paid for 6548 is hopefully on the Boat by now. It sounds like this cable is one that I will need to have available. Unfortunately, I am not clear on whether what I need to get is the USB-A to RS232 male or female. I just can not tell from the pics, and the cable on the SS website is a side view of the connector. Thanks, Tom

Hello
I buy an extra lcd display to connect it (parallel) with my 8kw axpert inverter.
Everything work fine until i connect the parallel display with RJ45 cable
I get error 32 (in the main lcd display on the inverter)
The parallel display don’t show anything, the inverter continue to work fine
anyone with same problem?
Thanks

Dear HSN, I'm bumping this thread because I'm getting Fault 32 when attempting the firmware upgrade on an MPP Solar LVX6048, which is essentially the same device as the EG4 6548EX.
  • Did you find any explanation for what Error/Fault 32 represents?
  • How did you CLEAR the Error 32 so you could proceed with the firmware flash?
Best thanks and warmest Lunar New Year's regards!

Not sure if that was a typo or not... but in case not, the EG4 6548EX is the single phase one, not the split phase/transformer one like the LVX6048. I believe the EG4 equivalent to the LVX6048 is the 6000EX

I have an eg4 6000ex that is also giving me the flashing 32 warning code and attempting to update the firmware. I also am using windows 11. I know it has been a while since you had to deal with this, but any help would be appreciated. Anyone else who has conquered this 32 fault/warning code please chime in because you know how frustrating this is to deal with.

Oh thats awesome! Let me know if anything changes
Ben, what are your thoughts for solving the '32 warning code' demon? The panel flash went well for all three of my 6000EXs but when I started the CPU flash, that's when the issue started.

When I had the error 32 on my 6500, I had to re-run the display firmware again. Once I ran that update (the display itself still showed error 32) I was able to flash the inverter firmware.

'Warning 32' Resolved!
Eg4 firmware is uploaded and my 3 6000ex inverters are working great!
Thanks you Adam for your video, thank you Ben from SS for the 'warning 32' tip sheet, and thank you to Jared Routon at SS for sending out a brand new USB to Serial cable. I believe all 3 of these contributed to resolving the flashing warning 32 displayed issue.
