EPEVER Cloud

My Tracer 4210A series (not AN) doesn't work with the wifi box. So I blew money there too. FFS, you get what you pay for with epever. Like, wtf can't the old blue ebox work on lan without an 11.x IP. Simple right? Nope you need a new black wifi box... So I get that and you need to fuck around with the seller to get a cloud ID working.... and then it doesn't work with my controller. Boooo epever

Hello guys I can't connect to inverter monitor(up)1.2v my system. I have the epever upower hi series UP3000-HM10022 and it gives me only voltage information with the usb cable.

Hi, i have the same inverter, unfortunately the station monitor software does not work with any upower Hi series inverter.. The usb to serial cable that they supply is only for updating the firmware on the inverter.. There is a way to get info from the inverter to the android app 'epever pair' though, you just have to make a lead up yourself and buy a ebox-wifi-01.
Or even better, use the ebox-wifi-01 to connect to home assistant to display all the data, see below:

Hello thanks for your reply.
I already have the ebox-wifi-01 from a tracer mppt charger. Is there any tutorial out there?
I don't even know how to update the firmware.
May I ask you to guide me on this? It Looks great.

Yep no probs, ill post up a step by step guide in a little while and link to it here.. It took a while to get it all sorted as im new to HA etc, but with thanks to someone on HA forum that had already figured it, i was able to do it. But its still not obvious and someone needs to make a how to thread, so thatll be me then lol!

There is a new wifi module in the marked now. I asked the support about it, it is in stock, but it's taken back for an upgrade.. so soon the new version are ready.. its wifi, - redy for cloud. The name i wifi module rf45 D

Thanks man!! I'm waiting for it :) (y)
Done. Here it is:

That must be the one they have been saying about for months now, shame it looks like cloud only? - so no good if their servers go down in the future?

so i must to buy Raspberry Pi and the adapter to make this work. hmm.. at least i have ebox wifi 01 and the inverter :p Epever products are very good for its price but with the software is like we live back to 1992 :p Thanks for your guide I'll set this up once I end with the wiring of my system.
HA gives you all the information that you need from the system right?

You only need the RPI for home assistant.. You can just get the adapter, wire it up and use the app, that tells you all the inverter settings.
The wifi-ebox-01 when using it in just ap mode with the app seems to go into low power mode after a while though and wifi signal is then very poor. This doesnt happen when in sta mode using with HA and an RPI, i can access it in the house, and the ebox-wifi-01 is in the shed, so not bad reception at all.
Home assistant gives you these details from the inverter using the yaml code in the guide i posted above..

yes yes I understand. I will buy the adapter first to make things just work. RPI it's a must have as I understand not only for the epever units but I will dive in this world later once I finish my setup and have a clear mind. I still don't understand why epever hi series comes with the usb cable? Rly I thought that is a broken cable or I receive a broken unit. :p

Cable is just for updating the inverter firmware. I wouldnt bother though unless you found a bug or something.
Had mine running for about 8 months now, is actually pretty good apart from a couple of things, which can be sorted anyway, like the no remote access or sheduled charging from grid.

I know it's off topic, but is anyone using the up3000 hi - hm10022 with lifepo4 batteries? reading on the manual it seems it's not possible to set the equalising time to 0, neither to set a low voltage for the equalisation as it's not possible to be modified by the user..
How have you dealt with that problem?
(i'm referring to option 10 and 11 on the advance interface for engineers)

I have one running 14.4kw eve cells (2 x 24v banks in parallel). Equalize is for lead acid, and you set the Equalize voltage to the same as the boost voltage, and the equalize time to the same as boost time.. Its all a bit confusing all the settings, i can post a copy of all mine to help you if you want, im at work atm though...

thanks for the quick reply.. I have a rough idea of how to set up the parameters (i extracted values from varies topics and articles).
I can't connect the unit to my pc at the moment.. so i thought i could do it throught the standard menu.
The problem is that looking at the manual the "equalising charging voltag" (option 11 on the engineers interface)
cannot be set by the user. is that correct? ( i was thinking to set a low value as other have suggested for other chargers.
If you have a way to change that voltage, than i should'nt have any problems setting the charger up.
i'll post my setting below

Pretty sure i can set mine, so maybe yours has updated firmware that stops you from changing it, but its locked to the same voltage as the boost voltage anyway according to the new manual.. (but no, dont set to a low voltage if it can be changed, set to same as boost voltage.). I use 'user' type battery in the settings, maybe change to that if your not already.. So then set the equalize time to the same as the boost time.. You cant connect the inverter to your pc, not using the station monitor software anyway (have a read further up in this thread..)..

here's the settings i was thinking of using for a 280 ah 8s 24v lifepo4 battery. (they are shown in order of comparison the upower menu and with the same option numebers.
7)Low voltage disconnect 21.4v
8)low voltage reconnect 24v
9)boost charging time 180min ( 30 min for every 100ah for a 12v system.. is this right?)
10)equalising charging time ----i would to put 0 but it's not possible according to the manual
11) equalising charging voltage 24v (a safe voltage..) BUT according to the manual that cannot be set by the user and the depends on the boost charging value

12)boost charging voltage 29v
13)boost voltage reconnect 26.6v
14)float charging voltage 27.2v
15)overcharge voltage reconnect voltage 28.2v
16)over voltage disconnect 29.2v
33)charge voltage limit 29.1v
35) under voltage reconnect voltage 25.6
36) Under voltage warning voltage 24v

I took extrapolated this settings from various articles and posts

ok so it means that the equalising should happen when the boost voltage has been already reached and no current will actually go through?

Sorry, im telling you wrong, set it to the float voltage, not boost voltage... Been a while since i set mine up. I got the info from this video if i remember correctly:

I set my other main settings based on will prowse's advice (5000 charge cycle settings) : (so 28.2v)
