We purchased a 14.100 DC STC PHOTOVOLTAIC system from SolarEdge in 2018, on a payment plan. We had to file for bankruptcy in 2020 (horrible pandemic losses). The system is shut off. SolarEdge won't speak with us. Now what do we do? Can I buy a new inverter and gateway and start it back up? Can we just replace the gateway? We are so confused and don't know where to start. Any advice, please?

If solaredge won't speak to you then they abandoned their asset. Document your attempts at contacting them by sending them certified letters and if no response do what you want with it. But check with lawyer first. The system hardware is likely worthless to them because used hardware resale value is less than cost of taking it down and selling it.

Post picks of the equipment you have. Model numbers help. If you have solaredge optimizers on the panels, you may need whatever part communicates with solaredge and is locked down. Then you would look like a new customer.

How much do you owe them? Is it less than cost of new inverter and installation? Then write to them and ask for payoff amount.
personally I'd sell their stuff you can't use and just replace it and get it running. If they ever showed up I'd say they came to get it years ago and to get lost

Shit happens, not proud of it, but it couldn't be helped. It seems a huge waste to pull it all down and toss it - kinda defeats the purpose. I figured if I replaced the inverter and gateway (or just the gateway???) and kept the old, then they could have it all if they came for it. Is it possible to just replace the gateway? Is this something we can do ourselves or should we find an electrician or solar installer specifially (although not sure if theat's possible either).
