Adding additional battery pack that communicate with inverter

I will be adding 2- Seplos 48v 280ah battery boxes to my existing system which consists of 2 - 48v 280 ah homemade battery packs.
All of the batteries are Eve cells. I was planning on wiring the 4 battery packs to a common Busbar and to the inverter from there.

Inverter is a Growatt SPF 12k, would it be wise to have the Seplos batteries communicate with the Growatt with the homade packs attached or not hook up the communication and set the Growatt charge parameters manually like I do now?

My opinion… if the communication does not include all packs- all cells - you need to Program very conservative and would be better off with no communication.

The reason is if the charger give a nice full charge - the other pack could have overcharged cell’s because of balance issues.

Good Luck

As posted above, very valid points. IF you want to connect the packs for a closed loop managed system, then you will need to replace the 2 BMS in your DIY Packs with Seplos Ones of a similar version to get the benefits. Mixing BMS types for communications is generally NOT a good idea unless they all use a generic profile lie Pylontech but even that can be troublesome.

I would just continue on, as you have been.
I'm not a fan of Closed loop communications, anyway. (Assuming that you are using good quality cells/batteries)

FYI - the Seplos BMS V3 doesn't communicate with the older Seplos V2, so be sure they will communicate with your current BMS's ...

Thanks for the comments, I will continue on with my current settings.
Maybe in the future I will get 2 more battery boxes and rethink it.
