    critique my ground-neutral bond plan

FYI the newer units have the bond disabled/removed.

    First Post... Heating/Cooling 8'x8'x8' R-20 structure using: DC Aircon DV1910E-AC/H Capacity: 450W (1,535Btu)?

Non vented AC isn't an AC. It's a device that blows cold air out one end, and hotter air out the other.

    Cool. Wanted to make sure.

    Panels required?

Looking at the EG4 3000EHV-48 Am I reading this correctly, that I'll need an array with at least a 120v open circuit voltage?

EG4 3Kw inverter neutral ground questions

Did you get anywhere with this? I want some of these inverters, but need to be able to control the ground-neutral bond.

    critique my ground-neutral bond plan

I would think that's fine. You're just creating a ground-neutral bond at the generator. There are commercial plugs you can buy for this, or make your own... or a jumper wire... just depends on your generator. I have a similar question... I want to disable the bond on the EG4. I will ONLY use...

    Split phase inverter w/ neutral?

Been a while... I came across this unit, which seems to fit the bill. Not a "portable" style like I originally desired, but the EG4 stuff seems well loved and battle tested at this point. https://eg4electronics.com/products/all-products/inverters/eg4-6000ex-48hv/

Not dead. Went with an ultra quiet recpro unit.

    Split phase inverter w/ neutral?

Thx. Sure would be nice if the Sigineer could charge on 120v like the Samlex. Not a big deal I guess, but it will certainly do what I need.

    Split phase inverter w/ neutral?

@Dynoman thanks for the links. The sigineer should be more than I need, and I can use it on my existing 12v bank and can charge batteries through it with my 2000 watt gas generator if needed.

    Split phase inverter w/ neutral?

I have 240v loads... just none that I need to power from the inverter.
  13. LVLAaron

    Split phase inverter w/ neutral?

I don't need to run any 240 loads... just need/desire to power both phases of my main panel. Before anyone asks, my my main panel is outside, so a multi-circuit transfer switch isn't really an option.

    Split phase inverter w/ neutral?

I'm looking for a minimal inverter. I need 240v split phase w/ neutral inverter (think whole house generator input). I only need to run lights, fridge, and small electronics, but I need to feed a 240v split phase panel. I only need to feed 1200-1500 watts max. What's the smallest split-phase...

Harbor freight 9500 Watt Super Quiet Inverter Generator

I looked at one in store yesterday. Would be a nice upgrade to my big noisy open frame I use as a whole house backup. It's one of the only inverter generators that has split phase 240

Harbor freight 9500 Watt Super Quiet Inverter Generator

Same. The comparable Honda is a ton of money. The new horrible freight inverter generators seem really nice.. We'll see what their longevity is.. We know their honda clone engines are outstanding.

    Cell drift in commercial batteries?

https://www.sunfunkits.com/product/19/4-pack-eve-lithium-lf280n-certified-automotive-grade These are used? Regardless, that isn't my point or question.

    Cell drift in commercial batteries?

Yes, they have "balancers" in them, something like 30-50ma which is nothing. I know we don't need to charge to 14.6 - But many commercial chargers DO charge to 14.6 and are not adjustable. And to clarify here.... I'm not trying to solve any of my own problems... just having a conversation.

    Cell drift in commercial batteries?

I've never purchased a commercial LifePo4 battery, so I'm curious about cell drift. I've built several DIY packs. Some VERY diy, and recently a Sun Fun Kit with quality eve 280ah cells. I notice that no matter what balancing method used (actual proper top balance with all cells in parallel...

A tale of 2 BMS - Internal Vs External

To decide, start by defining what you need your system to do. Do you need a 400ah battery that can provide 100amps? Or do you need a 15kwh system that can provide hundreds of amps? I'd use internal BMS's for a battery that's up to a couple hundred amp hours... If you're building a large...

Victron DC-DC charger, and feedback before purchase?

Are you going to run a new main lead from the primary battery? If not you don't need to worry about taxing it. The others were correct... I only get about 9 amps through the dainty factory wire.

    Ordered a 280ah SFK v3 kit.

Ordered my SFK kit a day ago. 280ah cells, with their BMS and new V3 lid/spacer system. Once I receive the kit and start building it I will update the thread.

Whats a good 48v battery charger

Do you have the 12/24 or the 36/48 version? I have the 12/24 and it runs like a champ. Yes it has a fan but it outputs 75amps all day if I need it to.

Whats a good 48v battery charger

https://theinverterstore.com/product/aims-ac-converter-battery-charger-36v-48v-smart-charger-25-amps-large-charging-capacity/ These are great standalone chargers. Variable output, so if you have concerns about load on the generator you can just turn the output down a little bit.

A question about the "missing low temp sensor" problem...

I'm not saying your method wouldn't work. But for someone who's only going to be at 30 degrees, it wont take much to warm up the batteries. If I were building a bank that's below freezing for long periods of time, heck yeah, I'd build a proper box and use those stick on pads.

A question about the "missing low temp sensor" problem...

It's two degrees. people sleep under and stay warm with heated blankets all the time, and they're not sleeping on top of them.
