6000XP and Soft Start Device for 120V loads

Seems like something isn't right with the dryer - my 6000XP handles the inrush and continual load of my electric clothes dryer just fine - I wouldn't expect such a huge inrush from a gas dryer.

I connected two Surge-Gard SG333 Inrush Limiters in series with the 120V hot lead. The peak inrush current is still pretty high at around 53 Amps. It will still make the 6000XP fault out. I think I might need to go with an "active" soft start instead of just passive resistive style inrush limiters. Any recommendation for an 120V "active" soft start? Thanks.
