I can't disagree with that. Primarily the preference for welding cable over normal battery cable is the flexibility, which means lots of fine strands rather than fewer heavier strands (insulation also plays a factor in flexibility). All are made in USA, which is a primary factor to consider, I simply don't trust Chinese cable.

I have used quite a bit of the "Ancor Marine Grade Primary Wire and Battery Cable" in 10 gauge, but it is decidedly not as flexible. Ancor makes great products, I have used a lot of their lugs since you can be sure of their quality.
 
I used this https://www.servicewire.com/Products/XH-CT.htm with mechanical lugs for my setup.
I used 2 awg which is fine but I should have used 1 awg which is 19 strands, would have been easier to work with.
I like the fact that it holds its shape and stays suspended in place.
Its pretty hard to cut though.
