Go to HomeDepot -- get a copper pipe plumbing tube -- take it home -- place it on the ground ... put a piece of long wood over it - DRIVE back and forth over it -- then take a 5 pound hammer and smash it totally flat ... cut the pieces to size you want -- drill holes -- DONE
For a lower current application, I think this is a simple, cheap, and no-nonsense way to go about it. For 1000A busbars, possibly not the safest approach.
Go a salvage yard and look for a electrical service entrance section should be about six feet tall. You can get the bus bars and drill your holes as required. Get the standoff insulators while you are there. I would try to find tinned copper but aluminum will work.
