EVE Official Alibaba Store, the end of Luyuan and other alibaba sellers?

In spring 2022 I wanted to buy before the “giant spike in cell prices due to record demand”

I paid $121/cell for Eve 230 delivered and I was happy.

I just bought 12 280ah for about $90/cell delivered, and I’m happy with the purchase.

I wonder what the next 2 years will do for cell prices

The next years, I think maybe we will try Sodium-ion batteries

Emily my understanding is the new tariffs don't apply to energy storage batteries, are the prismatics considered to be EV batteries and subject to them?
The tariff rate on lithium-ion EV batteries will increase from 7.5% to 25% in 2024, while the tariff rate on lithium-ion non-EV batteries will increase from 7.5% to 25% in 2026. The tariff rate on battery parts will increase from 7.5% to 25% in 2024.

The tariff rate on natural graphite and permanent magnets will increase from zero to 25% in 2026. The tariff rate for certain other critical minerals will increase from zero to 25% in 2024.

The document also shows increases in other areas. Not to hijack the thread but it mentions:

Solar Cells

The tariff rate on solar cells (whether or not assembled into modules) will increase from 25% to 50% in 2024.

Go Luyuan and with EVE 280 AH if or when you can afford them. You will be happy with the extra capacity over 100 AH as well. Been there done that with 100 AH before DIY Solar got going. Both Luyuan and EVE are very trusted and very few problems. EVE as a reseller is new and their service and products may or may not be accurate and reliable. Docan has had past mixed reviews though recently I have read of good service.

I have also read of so many problems from others taking chances on unknowns, just to try and save a little bit of money or from being impatient or from I don't know, however, my home DIY "24 volt system" has been rock solid, no problems and I knew nothing to start, though I read and researched a lot and also chose items based on the great experiences of others with far more knowledgeable than I have. Luyuan and their service is very good and experienced by many on these forums, as are the EVE 280 AH cells. If you go with the MB31 version, they are still new and not so proven, so they may or many not be problem free. IME, have patience, learn first before you buy, get things that are reliable and recommended by forum members and though maybe cost a bit more (that's a maybe), then you should have a problem free system with a long life. Nothing is worse then trying to understand and repair a problem with a lack of knowledge or money or quality components. You will be hard to go wrong with Victron SCC and Inverter/Charger, EVE 280 cells, JK BMS and Luyuan, plus the proper wire sizes, lugs and fuses.

Only suppliers who source original raw cells directly from EVE can guarantee the highest quality batteries. With EVE's latest update to the MB31 power module, it's definitely worth giving it a try. Real capacity can achieve 320AH+😄

Hello Guys,

Im new here and i have done a extense search about batterys on this forum which helped me a lot !.

Following this topic , did anyone bought from this oficial store but having the cells shipped from EU warehouse in Germany ?

Im asking this because and a few messages i got a quotation but they told me i cant buy trough alibaba because the deal will be done trough EVE Germany GmbH, so i do belive payment needs to be trough bank transfer .

If someone could give a handsup i would appreciate

Looks like these MB31 suffer from "Ultra Thicker" (that's what she said :ROFLMAO:) issue:

after seeing EVE 280K V1/V2 debacle my suggestion is that you all wait before you end up with bulging cells.

Uff exactly the ones i have asked for MB31 .

I do believe that this will probably happen with all brands... this always be a hit or miss.. from all the stuff i already read from here.

I just choose to search directly from EVE supplier just to be more "safe" in terms of what i actually get.. because the warranty that they will hold up all the time they say will be tricky ..

Or im thinking it wrong?

Could make the argument to wait on all aluminum case cells. No one knows long-term durability on any of these cells.

Is there an actual precedent of someone going to EVE 2 or 3 years down the line after their cells have done 700 cycles and failed and actually getting their warranty honored?

Talking about warranty is one thing, actually standing behind it is another. If they fob you off after you bought a $100k worth of cells from them when 20% of them start failing in 2~3 years time(hypothetical situation, I'm not saying it will happen) what will you do? Sue them in a Chinese court? Good luck with that.

Yes that’s the point I mean , who will know what will happen in 3 years ? No one knows , so that’s why I said it’s a tricky situation honestly I’m not counting with any warranty on this besides upon arrival if something is wrong , but I’m also convinced they will last what they need to last , bad batches and bad batteries will always appear and it’s doesn’t matter what brand it is .

The only reason for me to go directly buying from them is just to ensure that they are really sending what I paid for and that are not old batteries like I have saw in some topics around this forum !

Btw since you are from Europe did you bought yours trough EVE directly or you bought from a retailer?

I bought through Qishou. At the time of my first purchase Qishou got my order to me overnight and EVE was a bit slow to respond and confirm if they have stuff in stock in Europe so I went with Qishou.

Then as my first order was fine I continued with them. Only my most recent order is one I have to wait a longer time for. The first order I got overnight. Second was very quick too, I ordered on Friday and on Tuesday it was delivered. At the time of the third they were out, but they had a container arriving next week. After the container arrived again the order was delivered on next day.

Now I'm waiting for a container that is supposed to arrive end of first week of September. I placed the order in first week of August so a substantially longer wait. I'm hoping the batch of cells will be good. But looking at transit times from Asia that container probably contains cells made at end of April so I'm a bit anxious based on that Starmax video.

Hello again !

Well im in the same boat as you im waiting for the batterys arrive in EU , like you said should had arrived on the 30 of August at least the information i got from EVE.

Let me get the opportunity to ask you , what type of DIY box would you recommend i still didnt decided yet..

Purchased from Amy Wan, Shenzhen luyaun. My only Ali purchase ever, but tbh, most of the convo re order was accomplished outside Ali. Contact was made through this forum because of Amy's reputation, and word-of-mouth reports of satisfied customers. Amy built her business about us little guys. This is what you are buying. Her good reputation. Until this new outlet has the same rep, it's not the same product.
