Generator in the garage - Thoughts?

I'm a fan of getting the generator as far away from the house as possible.

The untreated exhaust fumes, even while not deadly, always seem to seep into the house or can be smelled outside etc. Especially when it's cold out, they just seem to hover around.

For that reason I wouldn't do it unless it ran on natural gas or propane.

Apart from being dangerous you may run into insurance issues if there was an incident. In Florida generator installs basically require 5 feet from an opening, five feet from an eve (roof) and 5 feet from exterior walls.

If your hell bent on doing it here is a conversion kit that enlarges your exhaust to 1.5 inch
