Gobel ESS / LSEV grade - what’s the difference?

Overpriced Grade B the both of them. I have to hand it to Gobel they are pretty slick selling the same grade B as all the rest but they can sure dress up them nicely.

There are only 2 grades: Cells with manufacturer Test Report, Rejected Cells without. We normally call them cells with manufacturer test report as grade A and those without grade B.

Grade B sellers make up all types of silly names for there cells, TOP GRADE, GRADE A, ESS GRADE, none of that means anything, they are all grade B if they do not have individual cell test report (not a sample).

1726169174679.pngAs far as I can see, Gobelpower is fairly honest about what they sell. First, all cells they sell are new. There are only two grades initially: Grade A and Grade B. Grade A they call HSEV (High Speed Electric Vehicle) and Grade B they call ESS. The ESS cells are selected and matched for capacity so that they are branded as LSEV (Low Speed Electric Vehicle). So HSEV always means Grade A and anything else is Grade B stock.

horse pucky 🐴 :poop:

They made up all this nonsense grades. LF280K is an ESS cell it can never be an EV cell yet gobel claims it is because it has an intact QR code.

You either meet manufacturer requirements/quality test or you fail.

Just because you didn't pass medical school, does not mean you get to call yourself a dentist.

It’s similar to the sleight of hand used by many vendors who claim cells which meet the rated capacity are grade A as a result, and only cells with less than advertised capacity are grade B. Since very few cells will ever fail such a basic test, by their logic all the cells they sell are magically grade A, no matter how bad the IR, self discharge or dents and dings might be.
