I’m trying to fit a smart shunt into a tight space. Purchased a metal case, SOK-style 12V 130Ah battery ($299) and want to fit the shunt inside, but the TBD-smartshunt is just not going to fit and I’m concerned the metal case will kill the BT signal as it’s notoriously weak.

Was thinking of doing the Junctek KG/KH140F and installing a panel-mount RJ9 to the metal case for the display, but the measuring module is too large as well based on dimensions I found online. Has anyone disassembled the measuring module case? And will the measure module continue to monitor the battery without the display plugged in? Is the Bluetooth in the module or the display?

Thanks!

The Bluetooth module and smarts are all within the module.
I just disconnected the display and everything continues as normal.
The app still reads and displays all parameters.

The housing of the KH140F diverter can be removed
Disconnection of the display does not affect data transmission.
