Licitti 1000w modify or build a complete new box?

Neither of mine start whining at me until I hit about 1300w, and it can use a 160w panel. Between the inefficiencies of solar panels and the 146w that MPPT can pump out at max it works well.

I wish they would go back to $99, I'd buy a few just to have on hand! ?
 
It just needs a 15 amp SCC.
Did you try to push the 10 amp unit past 146 watts?
 
I did, but it just wouldn't utilize more than 10a according to the BMS. I ran it with a pair of 100w panels last camping trip. That's why I rigged up the external MPPT because with 304Ah cells, even 15a is pretty anemic.

Did you have to run a step down buck on your panels?
 
Sorry I confused this with a Dr. Prepare battery and module have. It has a limit of 24v and my panel is 28v.
